Magnetic declination of the territory of Ukraine: the results of observations and calculations
A technology is proposed for calculating the strength and angular components of the vector of the induction of the Earth's magnetic field. The technology is based on the development of a three-dimensional model of the earth's crust and the calculation of

Characteristics of the flankmagnetopause: Cluster observations
The magnetopause is a current sheet forming the boundary between the geomagnetic field on one side and the shocked solar wind on the other side. This paper discusses properties of the low-latitude dawn and dusk flanks of the magnetopause.

C16 Phase High Entropy Borides With High Magnetic Anisotropy
Rare‐earth‐free C16‐phase high entropy boride thin films exhibit enhanced magnetic anisotropy with coercivities surpassing their binary and ternary counterparts. Combinatorial synthesis of (Fe‐Co‐Ni‐Mn)2B films combined with density functional theory enables mapping of the magnetic properties across the composition space, revealing high entropy ...

Geomagnetic Information Model for 2019
In the narrow sense, “Geomagnetic Information” (GI) refers to the Earth’s magnetic field declination (D) and its annual variation (AVD) as marginal information of official and military maps.

Microbially assisted recording of the Earth’s magnetic field in sediment
Sediments record variations of the Earth’s magnetic field via the alignment of magnetic grains during and after deposition, yet the role of post-depositional processes remains unclear. Here, the authors present experiments showing how microbially-induced

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Relativistic electrons generated at Earth's quasi-parallel bow shock. [PDF]
Plasma shocks are the primary means of accelerating electrons in planetary and astrophysical settings throughout the universe. Which category of shocks, quasi-perpendicular or quasi-parallel, accelerates electrons more efficiently is debated.

A Cu/Ag‐Cu bilayer tandem catalyst is designed for a pyramid‐structured p‐Si photocathode, creating multiple and functionally distinct interfaces tailored to specific reaction steps and intermediate stabilization. This Cu/Ag‐Cu‐decorated p‐Si photocathode exhibits both high photocurrent and good selectivity for photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction to CH4.
