The redox‐mediated aluminum–air fuel cell (RM‐AAFC) integrates a soluble redox mediator, 7,8‐dihydroxy‐2‐phenazine sulfonic acid (DHPS), to facilitate the oxidation of aluminum and inhibit hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) through competitive reactions between DHPS reduction and HER on the Al surface.

Silicon anodes in sulfide SSBs face coupled electrochemo‐mechanical failure by interface instability. This review examined recent advances and proposed mitigation strategies via material‐, electrode/interface‐, and cell‐level‐ engineering. We further evaluate scalable synthesis of sulfide SEs.

Pre-terrestrial origin of rust in the Nakhla meteorite [PDF]
The authors present quantative elemental compositions and summarize textural evidence for the pre-terrestrial origin of rust on the Nakhla meteorite. The material in question is called 'rust' because its phase composition remains unknown.

Electro-Magnetic Earthquake Bursts and Critical Rupture of Peroxy Bond Networks in Rocks
We propose a mechanism for the low frequency electromagnetic emissions and other electromagnetic phenomena which have been associated with earthquakes. The mechanism combines the critical earthquake concept and the concept of crust acting as a charging ...

AGM2015: Antineutrino Global Map 2015
Every second greater than $10^{25}$ antineutrinos radiate to space from Earth, shining like a faint antineutrino star. Underground antineutrino detectors have revealed the rapidly decaying fission products inside nuclear reactors, verified the long-lived

Isolation and Reactivity of a Square‐Planar Trisamido Silane
We report the synthesis and comprehensive characterisation of a square‐planar Si(+IV) hydride supported by an unsymmetric, trianionic and dearomatised N,N,N‐pincer ligand. This system enables element–ligand cooperative reactivity as an alternative to silicon‐centred redox chemistry, illuminating a largely unexplored regime in high‐valent silicon ...

Deep seismic studies in the southeastern Fennoscandian Shield
The modern concept of the deep structure of the earth crust of the Ladoga-Bothnian zone, based on analysis and summing-up of all available information obtained in the last 35 years, is presented.

Venus tectonic styles and crustal differentiation [PDF]
Two of the most important constraints are known from Pioneer Venus data: the lack of a system of spreading rises, indicating distributed deformation rather than plate tectonics; and the high gravity/topography ratio, indicating the absence of an ...
