Electrodynamics of an omega-band as deduced from optical and magnetometer data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate an omega-band event that took place above northern Scandinavia around 02:00–02:30 UT on 9 March 1999. In our analysis we use ground based magnetometer, optical and riometer measurements together with satellite based optical images.

Mode-Locking in Driven Disordered Systems as a Boundary-Value Problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We study mode-locking in disordered media as a boundary-value problem. Focusing on the simplest class of mode-locking models which consists of a single driven overdamped degree-of-freedom, we develop an analytical method to obtain the shape of the Arnol ...

Determining role of Krein signature for 3D Arnold tongues of oscillatory dynamos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Using a homotopic family of boundary eigenvalue problems for the mean-field $\alpha^2$-dynamo with helical turbulence parameter $\alpha(r)=\alpha_0+\gamma\Delta\alpha(r)$ and homotopy parameter $\beta \in [0,1]$, we show that the underlying network of ...
