Alert System of Earthquake Detection

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2021
Abstract: Global warning shows unpredictablenature that changes in subsurface geologicfeatures. Due to the complex nature ofseismic events, it is challengeable task to efficiently identify the prominent features that leads to seismic events. Taking the advantage of availability of Seismic dataset, AI using machine learning is a powerful statistical ...

Shapley Additive Explanation for Local Class Differentiation: Local Explainability for Class Differentiation in Classification Models

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An instance‐level, model‐agnostic explanation of class differentiation is introduced through SHAP‐LCD, linking probability shifts to feature‐wise Shapley contributions. The method operates on tabular and image data and is released in a fully reproducible implementation, offering a transparent way to examine, at each instance, why predictive models ...

Fiber-optic earthquake detection [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2017
Seismology The seismic networks used to detect earthquakes are limited spatially because they require expensive seismometers to be placed, monitored, and maintained. Lindsey et al. show how fiber optics can be used for seismic recording, using a technique known as distributed acoustic sensing (DAS). Three examples show how DAS can detect ground motions—

How cold is too cold? A theoretical analysis of the optimal trigger for index insurance for frost damage to crops

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Crop insurance is undoubtedly an extremely valuable element in protecting agricultural businesses, but in many cases standard indemnity‐based products have had very low uptake due to high transaction costs elevating premiums to unaffordable levels.

地震检测与震相自动拾取研究

open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2018

Lineament analysis as a seismic precursor: The El Mayor Cucapah earthquake of April 4, 2010 (MW7.2), Baja California, Mexico

open access: yesGeodesy and Geodynamics, 2023
An earthquake called the MW7.2 “El Mayor Cucapah” earthquake on April 4, 2010 has been analyzed for seismic precursor. The changes in the lineament system concerning its pattern and time intervals were analyzed during the earthquake preparation period ...

The psychosocial toll of Dublin III on asylum seekers in the Netherlands

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract The Dublin III Regulation determines which EU Member State is responsible for examining asylum claims, but its implementation carries significant consequences for those subjected to it. This study examines how Dublin III, as implemented in the Netherlands, affects asylum seekers' psychosocial wellbeing using Silove′s Adaptation and Development

Diffusion MRI and α‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Status in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Positive α‐synuclein seed amplification assay (SAA) is a biomarker found in most people with Parkinson's disease (PD). We explored if free‐water (FW) imaging detects microstructural differences in the brains of patients with early PD with SAA+ or SAA– status.

Redescription of the Triassic cynodont Cistecynodon parvus and reassessment of its phylogeny

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Cynodontia is an important subclade of Therapsida that first occurred in the late Permian. It includes extinct subclades which are the non‐mammaliaform cynodonts and Mammaliaformes, with the latter ultimately giving rise to crown mammals. The systematics of non‐mammaliaform cynodonts has been extensively studied and is relatively well‐resolved,
