Pickin' up good vibrations: a systematic review of footfall detection and analysis in the realm of wildlife surveying

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Exploration of new wildlife surveying methodologies that leverage advances in sensor technology and machine learning has led to tentative research into the application of seismology techniques. This, most commonly, involves the deployment of a footfall trap – a seismic sensor and data logger customised for wildlife footfall.

TSUNAMI-GENERATION WARNING SYSTEM USING EARTHQUAKE EARLY WARNING

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geomate, 2015
We propose early-warning system for reducing tsunami refuge using the data of the magnitudeand the depth informed by the Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) by Japan Metrological Agency (JMA). TheEEW provides advance announcement of the estimated seismic intensity and expectSed arrival time at the justpoints and regions before arriving strong motion.

Dwelling in a post‐fallout landscape: re‐shaping and sustaining life in a former evacuation zone in Fukushima Habiter après la catastrophe : redonner forme au monde et entretenir la vie dans une ancienne zone évacuée à Fukushima

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, EarlyView.
This article explores the activities of daily life in a village neighbouring the TEPCO nuclear power plant in Fukushima.
