Abstract Dense shelf water (DSW) formed on Antarctica's continental shelves is a significant precursor for Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW), a critical component of global overturning circulation. We hypothesize that DSW cascades off the central Ross Sea shelf generated density currents that entrained sediment as they flowed down Hillary Canyon, resulting

The power of the past: materializing collective memory at early medieval lordly centres
The repurposing of earlier sites and monuments is an enduringly popular theme in early medieval archaeology, but in England it has attracted little interest among Late Saxon and early post‐Conquest studies. From the tenth century, however, an increasingly prevalent pattern is discernible of secular lords locating their power centres in relation to ...

Abstract Observations of ground deformation provide insights on the triggering mechanisms of eruptions. At Aniakchak Crater (Aleutians) InSAR measured ∼ ${\sim} $72 cm of uplift in less than 7 months between 2022 and 2023. The uplift can be explained by the inflation of a point pressure source at a depth of 3.2 km.

Crystal motion measurement by means of satellite techniques [PDF]
A system for monitoring precursory crustal motions is presented. It involves a set of automated corner reflector stations tracked by means of a laser operating in the Geopause satellite. It is possible to range some three times during every Geopause pass

Evaluation of Proposed Earthquake Precursors
AGU's Evaluation of Proposed Earthquake Precursors presents the first results of a project carried out by the International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior (IASPEI) to evaluate claims about precursors to earthquakes. Only three of 28 nominations were accepted for the Preliminary List of Significant Precursors that IASPEI ...
