Relocations of Earthquakes (1899–1917) in South-Central Alaska

Pure and Applied Geophysics, 2006
I have relocated 18 earthquakes occurring in the south-central Alaska region between 1899 and 1917 using a bootstrap relocation technique. Locations of events within the Yakutat region suggest that the 1899 sequence began on 4 September with a MS = 7.9 event within the area of the Pamplona fault zone/western Transition fault zone, rupturing the western

Relocation of the M8.0 Wenchuan earthquake and its aftershock sequence

Science in China Series D: Earth Sciences, 2008
We relocated M8.0 Wenchuan earthquake and 2706 aftershocks with M⩾2.0 using double-difference algorithm and obtained relocations of 2553 events. To reduce the influence of lateral variation in crustal and upper mantle velocity structure, we used different velocity models for the east and west side of Longmenshan fault zone.

Relocation processing of selected earthquakes in the Gulf of Aqaba region

Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2012
Earthquakes in the Gulf of Aqaba were compiled from the Jordan Seismological Observatory bulletins, Saudi Arabia (SNSN, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology), and Egypt (National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, Helwan) sources and were relocated after reexamining the P and S arrival times, testing the efficiency of stations ...

Relocation of the Koyna earthquakes with a new velocity model

Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 1986
abstractHypocenter locations of 380 earthquakes of magnitude ≧ 3 in the Koyna region, recorded by the Central Water and Power Research Station Network of Seismological Observatories and the India Meteorological Department stations during the period December 1967 to December 1973, are determined after selection of an appropriate crustal model. The model

Relocation of Eastern Tennessee Earthquakes Using hypoDD

2011
The double difference earthquake location algorithm, implemented in the program HYPODD, was used to relocate a data set of approximately 1000 earthquakes in the eastern Tennessee seismic zone (ETSZ), using a recently developed velocity model. The double difference algorithm is used to calculate accurate relative hypocenter locations by removing the ...

Community Resilience After Chuetsu Earthquake in 2004: Extinction or Relocation?

2013
The present study shows the findings obtained from the hearing survey conducted regarding relocation impacts and land use of relocated sites by the affected people of Chuetsu Earthquake, in 2004. The research targeted one of the affected communities named “Kotaka” which is located in Niigata Prefecture.
