Major California faults are smooth across multiple scales at seismogenic depth

open access: yesSeismica, 2023
Surface traces of earthquake faults are complex and segmented on multiple scales. At seismogenic depth the detailed geometry of faults and earthquake rupture is mainly constrained by earthquake locations.

COMPARISON OF EARTHQUAKE HYPOCENTER RELOCATION METHODS IN THE JAVA REGION, INDONESIA

open access: yes, 2023
<p><i>Java is a frequent island of earthquakes caused by the subduction of the Indo-Australian plate under the Eurasian plate. The mitigation of earthquake disasters is by relocating the hypocenter.

Relocation of clustered earthquakes in the Groningen gas field [PDF]

open access: yesNetherlands Journal of Geosciences, 2017
AbstractPrevious locations of earthquakes induced by depletion of the Groningen gas field were not accurate enough to infer which faults in the reservoir are reactivated. A multiplet analysis is performed to identify clusters of earthquakes that have similar waveforms, representing repeating rupture on the same or nearby faults.

Governing community relocation after major disasters: An analysis of three different approaches and its outcomes in Asia

open access: yesProgress in Disaster Science, 2020
Over the past decade, post-disaster recovery efforts have increasingly aimed to relocate communities, with the idea that well-designed plans and implementation will lead to increased resilience.

Relocation and Magnitude for Earthquakes in the Outer Arabian Platform of Iraq

open access: yesThe Iraqi Geological Journal, 2023
In this study, a large seismological dataset from the Mesopotamian Network (MP) and the Iranian Seismological Center (IRSC) was analyzed to relocate earthquakes with magnitude Mw ≥ 4 for the period between August 2014 and April 2021 that occurred in the Outer Arabian Plateform of Iraq. The Computer Programs in Seismology (CPS) was used for this purpose.

Focal Mechanism and Seismogenic Structure of the MS 5.1 Qingbaijiang Earthquake on February 3, 2020, Southwestern China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
The 3 February 2020 MS 5.1 Qingbaijiang earthquake, southwestern China, is the closest recorded MS ≥ 5.0 event to downtown Chengdu City to date, with an epicentral distance of only 38 km. Here we analyze seismic data from the Sichuan and Chengdu regional

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...
