Variable‐rate hydraulic fracturing can induce unsteady flow in the tubing, thereby generating fluctuating fluid pressure near the bottom‐hole reservoir. Dynamic stress is generated in the reservoir under the action of fluctuating fluid pressure and propagates as stress waves.

The study outlines the tectono‐sedimentary evolution of the İnegöl Basin in north‐western Anatolia. Basin formation was controlled by interacting extensional and strike‐slip fault systems linked to uplift of the Uludağ Massif. Terrestrial sedimentation from the Miocene to Pleistocene is reconstructed using abundant fossil mammal assemblages that ...

Abstract Research Summary This article develops a conceptual framework for understanding multinational enterprise (MNE) resilience in the era of cascading crises. We define resilience as the MNE's capacity to absorb disruption, maintain or restore functioning, and reconfigure operations as conditions shift.

Flat-bottom grain silos under earthquake ground motion
This paper proposes an innovative methodology for the seismic design of flat-bottom silos containing granular, grain-like material. In the general issues concerning the actions provoked by earthquake ground motion on the walls of flat-bottom grain silos,

Operating in perpetual motion? Coping with the dark side of global boundary spanning
Abstract Research Summary This paper explores how individuals experience and cope with the demands of global boundary spanning in multinational enterprises (MNEs). We foreground temporary colocation as a modality through which mobile global boundary spanners repeatedly traverse multiple boundaries, triggering intense demands with adverse consequences ...

Green swans and blue skies: Climate change and insolvency risk for financial institutions
Abstract This lecture in honour of the late Gabriel Moss QC and Ian Fletcher QC examines the challenge of climate‐related financial risk. Prudential regulators and central banks recognize that the systemic nature of climate‐related financial risk makes it an emerging vulnerability relevant to cross‐border insolvency resolution.

Evaluating the Economic Response to Japan's Earthquake [PDF]
This paper compares the 1995 Kobe earthquake with the more recent one in Tohoku. The impact of the recent earthquake on industrial production was much larger and long-lasting than that of the 1995 earthquake.
