An environment to ease the use of MMS
Proceedings Seventh Euromicro Workshop on Real-Time Systems, 2002The paper presents a development environment to ease the use of MMS. MMS is briefly introduced as well as its weaknesses. Given a distributed real time application specified in our higher level language, our tool automatically generates useful MMS objects for the implementation of the application by means of MMS services.

Analysis of Ease-of-Use and Ease-of-Learning of a Modern Flight Management System
Journal of Aerospace Computing, Information, and Communication, 2006The Flight Management System (FMS) has been identified by researchers, airline pilots, and airline instructors as hard to learn and difficult to use. Using the FMS to execute airline missiontasksrequiresthedevelopmentandmaintenanceofapilot’scognitiveskillstointeract with the FMS user-interface. This cognition is guided by visual cues (e.g.

Ease of use: A system design challenge
IBM Systems Journal, 1984While it is becoming increasingly obvious that the fundamental architecture of a system has a profound Influence on the quality of its human factors, the vast majority of human factors studies concern the surface of hardware (keyboards, screens) or the very surface of the software (command names, menu formats).

Designing an online experience for ease of use
ACM SIGGRAPH 2005 Web program on - SIGGRAPH '05, 2005The measure of the success of an interactive experience is in how effectively it delivers against the objectives of its creators. Typically, most creators' objectives are powerfully impacted by the ability of the intended users to easily and efficiently learn and use the site, accomplish their most important tasks, and be satisfied by the experience ...

Exploring the Psychological Determinants of Perceived Ease of Use and Usefulness
Proceedings of the 38th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2005The question of why individuals adopt a particular information system is an important issue in IS research. While extensive prior research has established that the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) does a good job of predicting a user's intention to adopt an information system through the constructs Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) and Perceived Usefulness

Proceedings of the conference on Designing interactive systems processes, practices, methods, & techniques - DIS '95, 1995
Application frameworks for visual design environments usually offer a wide range of features and easyto-use mechanisms to develop applications. We observed that sometimes those features deceive application designers: Tempted by the desire to make rapid progress, designers go into too much detail about easy things too early in the process, like ...

TRANAIR Packaging for Ease-of-Use in Wing Design
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998<div class="htmlview paragraph">Making TRANAIR an easier to use wing design tool is an important step toward reducing wing design cycle time. This paper shows the accuracy of TRANAIR in analysis mode for complex configurations with attached flow. This accuracy allows the design part to correctly predict improvements due to design changes. We show
