This article studies infrastructure building as an instrument to lure Yugoslavia into the Western orbit following the Tito-Stalin rift. Foreign aid flowed to Yugoslavia for infrastructural development as part of a broader set of flows that aimed at military support, economic growth and social development.

He was there to teach chemistry to some of the best students in Vietnam, three lectures per day, five days per week, for two weeks. “It was unbelievably hot and humid,” the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, chemistry professor says.
