Pollen Morphology of Crucianella L. (Rubiaceae) Based on Light and Scanning Electron Microscope Data and Implications for Taxonomy

This study provides the palynological analysis of 12 Crucianella L. taxa using LM and SEM. Variations in pollen size, aperture number, and exine ornamentation were identified as key traits, demonstrating their taxonomic value for distinguishing closely related species and subspecies within the genus. Effects of elevated CO2 and temperature on cocklebur (Xanthium strumarium L.) and its herbicide response

Elevated CO2 promotes the growth of Xanthium strumarium while increasing its susceptibility to the systemic herbicide trifloxysulfuron‐sodium. The efficacy of the soil‐active herbicide fluometuron remains unaffected by changes in CO2 concentration and temperature.
