Ordovician conodonts from the Mithaka Formation (Georgina Basin, Australia). Regional and paleobiogeographical implications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The systematic analysis of conodonts from the previously unstudied Mithaka Formation (Georgina Basin) yielded 1366 identifiable elements, representing 25 species and 21 genera. One new species was recovered and identified, Triangulodus mithakensis n. sp.

Quantitative Identification and Distribution Pattern of Macrolithotype of Coal in Deep Coal Seams of the Daji Block

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 10, Page 4839-4852, October 2025.
ABSTRACT The construction of a logging response model for macrolithotypes in coal has been successfully completed. This model has enabled delineation of vertical and planar distribution patterns of coal macrolithotypes within the #5 and #8 coal seams of the Daji block, as well as to forecast the distribution of favorable reservoir conditions.

Polyorogenic evolution of the Paleoproterozoic Trans-North China Belt, new insights from the in Lüliangshan-Hengshan-Wutaishan and Fuping massifs

open access: yes, 2007
http://www.episodes.org/backissues/302/abstract2.htmInternational audienceThe Trans-North China Belt (TNCB) is a Paleoproterozoic collisional orogen (ca. 1.9-1.8 Ga) responsible for the amalgamation of the North China Craton.

Evolution and variability of the Asian monsoon and its potential linkage with uplift of the Himalaya and Tibetan Plateau [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
© 2016, Tada et al. Uplift of the Himalaya and Tibetan Plateau (HTP) and its linkage with the evolution of the Asian monsoon has been regarded as a typical example of a tectonic–climate linkage.

Enrichment Mechanism of the Upper Carboniferous-Lower Permian Transitional Shale in the East Margin of the Ordos Basin, China: Evidence from Geochemical Proxies

open access: yes, 2020
The organic-rich shale of the Upper Carboniferous-Lower Permian transition period in the eastern margin of the Ordos Basin, China, was formed in a marine-continental facies sedimentary environment.

Modeling Overpressure Development and the Mechanical Behavior of Sediments in a Complex, Tectonically Active Setting: East Coast Basin, New Zealand

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract The East Coast Basin (ECB) is a complex, active convergent margin located on the North Island of New Zealand, where variable but commonly very high overpressures occur in Cretaceous to Pleistocene stratigraphy. Using a consistent set of sediment physical properties and a single value for tectonic compression, a multi‐1D hydro‐mechanical ...

Pore Structure and Heterogeneity Characteristics of Deep Coal Reservoirs: A Case Study of the Daning–Jixian Block on the Southeastern Margin of the Ordos Basin

open access: yesMinerals
To clarify the micropore structure and fractal characteristics of the Danning–Jixian block on the eastern margin of the Ordos Basin, this study focuses on the deep coal rock of the Benxi Formation in that area. On the basis of an analysis of coal quality

Numerical simulation of multi-layer co-production in marine-continental transitional shale reservoirs [PDF]

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa
Distinct sedimentary environments lead to notable disparities between marine-continental transitional shale and purely marine shale. This study develops a numerical model to evaluate the productivity of horizontal wells in vertically multi-lithologic ...
