The geochemical characteristics, origin, migration and accumulation modes of deep coal-measure gas in the west of Linxing block at the eastern margin of Ordos Basin

Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering, 2021
Abstract The deep coal-measure gas, including coalbed methane (CBM), tight gas (TG) and shale gas (SG), has attracted widely attention because of its great potential for natural gas development and multiple benefits. To determine the gas origin, migration and evolution in the west of Linxing block, 56 coal-measure gas samples from different horizons ...

In-situ stress distribution and its influence on the coal reservoir permeability in the Hancheng area, eastern margin of the Ordos Basin, China

Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract During the coalbed methane (CBM) exploration and development, in-situ stress and permeability are two vital reservoir evaluation parameters. In this work, with the injection/falloff well test and in-situ stress data of 11 CBM wells in the Hancheng area, eastern margin of the Ordos Basin, China, the distribution of in-situ stress and its ...

Karst-Controlled Diagenesis and Reservoir Development: Example from the Ordovician Main-Reservoir Carbonate Rocks on the Eastern Margin of the Ordos Basin, China

AAPG Bulletin, 2002
Abstract The Ordovician Majiagou Formation contains the main reservoir of the Ordos Central gas field in the Ordos basin. The producing zone at the top of member 5 consists of carbonate rocks modified during a long period of subaerial exposure and karstification from the Late Ordovician to the middle Carboniferous.

Reservoir Characteristics and Gas Occurrence Patterns of Deep Coalbed Methane in the Benxi Formation, Eastern Margin of the Ordos Basin

Since 2017, China has actively promoted the exploration of deep coal seams as unconventional natural gas reservoirs. However, the petrographic composition, pore–fracture structure, and gas occurrence characteristics of deep coal reservoirs remain poorly constrained, particularly under in-situ formation depth conditions.
