On the Approximation Properties of Modified Bernstein–Kantorovich Operators and Their Subfamilies
ABSTRACT Motivated by the construction of Bernstein–Kantorovich operators preserving affine functions, we introduce a Bernstein–Kantorovich type operators 𝒯n,m together with its subfamilies 𝒯∗n,m, 𝒯∗n,2m−1 and 𝒯∗n,2m. We investigate and compare their approximation properties with the other Bernstein–Kantorovich operators. Our analysis demonstrates that,

Taxonomy and phylogeny of the intercontinental disjunctive ferns: series Reniformia Adiantum
There are disputed opinions about the three taxa of series Reniformia, namely A. nelumboides X.C.Zhang (A. reniforme var. sinense Y.X.Lin), A. reniforme var. reniforme, and A. reniforme var. asarifolium (Willd.) R. Sim, owing to their similar morphology but intercontinental disjunctive distribution and close lineage with the series Venusta (only ...

A new species, Centaurea baghmalekensis Negaresh (Asteraceae) in C. sect. Microlophus (Cass.) DC., is described and illustrated from the Khuzestan Province, southwestern Iran. The new species is morphologically most similar to Centaurea pabotii Wagenitz, a recently described species from the Khuzestan Province.

From mainland to islands: the evolution of resistance and tolerance to herbivory in long‐lived oaks
Island biogeography theory predicts that island plants should exhibit reduced defences compared with their mainland relatives due to relaxed herbivory pressure. However, growing empirical evidence challenges this prediction, revealing substantial variation among systems, plant lineages and defence types.

An invasional meltdown can occur when a non‐native species facilitates the spread of another non‐native species in the invaded area, increasing its likelihood of survival or its ecological impact. Plant–pollinator systems pose an exceptional study system to test this concept, which remains poorly known.

Abstract Urban environments create unique challenges for wildlife, where dietary habits may reflect both ecological heterogeneity and societal disparities. In this study, we explored how social factors such as household income and human population density, and ecological factors such as tree canopy correlate with coyote (Canis latrans) diets in Seattle,
