ABSTRACT Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (PTC) is the most prevalent thyroid malignancy, and accurate lesion segmentation is essential for clinical diagnosis and treatment planning. Metaheuristic optimisation algorithms have been widely used in Multi‐Threshold Image Segmentation (MTIS), but many existing methods suffer from an imbalance between global ...

Observation of large many-body Coulomb interaction effects in a doped quantum wire
We demonstrate strong one dimensional (1-D) many-body interaction effects in photoluminescence (PL) in a GaAs single quantum wire of unprecedented optical quality, where 1-D electron plasma densities are controlled via electrical gating.

ABSTRACT Background Pathological complete response (pCR) following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) in locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) is a key prognostic marker with implications for response‐adapted management. Although magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is central to response assessment, differentiating residual tumour from treatment‐related

Towards Donovan's conjecture for abelian defect groups
We define a new invariant for a $p$-block, the strong Frobenius number, which we use to address the problem of reducing Donovan's conjecture to normal subgroups of index p.

The Union Wage Mark‐Up for Immigrants in the United States
ABSTRACT Using data from the Current Population Survey (CPS) for 1995–2023, we show that unionized immigrants earn 10.1 log points less than unionized natives, of which 4.8 log points are due to a lower union wage mark‐up. Therefore, unionization is beneficial for immigrants but to a lesser extent than for natives in the United States.

Search for the 4He-eta bound state with WASA-at-COSY
We conduct a search for the 4He-eta bound state with WASA-at-COSY facility, via a measurement of the excitation functions for the dd->3Heppi- reaction, where the outgoing p-pi- pairs originate from the conversion of the eta meson on a nucleon inside the ...

The rice protein OsFKBP20‐1b protects key RNA‐surveillance factors from breakdown, so they can better eliminate defective messages. This RNA quality‐control boost reduces errors and helps plants survive drought, revealing a link between RNA control and drought tolerance.

3D Relativistic Hydrodynamic Computations Using Lattice-QCD-Inspired Equations of State
In this communication, we report results of three-dimensional hydrodynamic computations, by using equations of state with a critical end point as suggested by the lattice QCD.

ABSTRACT Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is the causal agent of bacterial leaf blight (BLB) disease in rice, exerting a detrimental impact on the yield of various rice cultivars in Vietnam, notably the Bacthom 7 (BT7) variety. Xoo possesses transcription activator‐like effectors (TALEs) which modulate the expression of host genes by specifically ...
