Circularly Polarized Polariton Lasing from Spin‐Momentum Locking in Deformed Plasmonic Kagome Cavities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This paper describes room‐temperature polariton lasing with high circular polarization from deformed plasmonic Kagome lattice cavities strongly coupled to colloidal CdSe nanoplatelets. Spin‐selectivity from cavity modes resulted in control over the handedness of circular polarization as well as the direction of polariton lasing, opening prospects for ...

External chest-wall compression in prolonged COVID-19 ARDS with low-compliance: a physiological study

open access: yesAnnals of Intensive Care, 2022
Background External chest-wall compression (ECC) is sometimes used in ARDS patients despite lack of evidence. It is currently unknown whether this practice has any clinical benefit in patients with COVID-19 ARDS (C-ARDS) characterized by a respiratory ...

Analysis of Parallel Montgomery Multiplication in CUDA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
For a given level of security, elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) offers improved efficiency over classic public key implementations. Point multiplication is the most common operation in ECC and, consequently, any significant improvement in perfor- mance ...

Spectral Tuning of Hyperbolic Shear Polaritons in Monoclinic Gallium Oxide via Isotopic Substitution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Spectral tuning of highly directional hyperbolic shear polaritons is realized via isotopic substitution of 16O to 18O in monoclinic β$\beta$‐phase gallium oxide. A red‐shift of almost 40 cm−1 is experimentally demonstrated with near‐field imaging, corroborated by the permittivity change extracted from far‐field experiments and density functional theory.

Peptide‐Induced Ferroelectricity in Charge‐Transfer Supramolecular Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐inspired supramolecular charge‐transfer amphiphiles self‐assemble into nanoribbons in water, where peptide chirality‐induced symmetry breaking generates robust ferroelectricity across multiple systems. These water‐processable organic ferroelectrics also enhance neuronal outgrowth and electrophysiological maturity, offering a versatile strategy for ...

Exploring the association between early childhood caries, malnutrition, and anemia by machine learning algorithm

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry
Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of early childhood caries in children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and also the hierarchy of association if any with malnutrition, anemia, and other risk factors with ECC ...

C16 Phase High Entropy Borides With High Magnetic Anisotropy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rare‐earth‐free C16‐phase high entropy boride thin films exhibit enhanced magnetic anisotropy with coercivities surpassing their binary and ternary counterparts. Combinatorial synthesis of (Fe‐Co‐Ni‐Mn)2B films combined with density functional theory enables mapping of the magnetic properties across the composition space, revealing high entropy ...

Frugal ECC [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis, 2015
Because main memory is vulnerable to errors and failures, large-scale systems and critical servers utilize error checking and correcting (ECC) mechanisms to meet their reliability requirements. We propose a novel mechanism, Frugal ECC (FECC), that combines ECC with fine-grained compression to provide versatile protection that can be both stronger and ...
