AbstractEccrine porocarcinoma, a malignancy of the eccrine sweat glands, is extremely rare. Our report and a review of the literature (70 cases) emphasize the features of this tumor. Age at time of treatment ranged from 19 to 94 years (mean 67 years).

We describe a 78-year-old woman with eccrine porocarcinoma presenting a zosteriform appearance on the lateral upper part of the buttock. Erosion and bleeding were observed in the center of a 50 × 80 mm, erythematous indurated plaque with an elevated border.

Little has been written about eccrine hidrocystomas since the condition was first described in 1893. This paper presents a "classic" case of this disorder, and reviews current knowledge about clinical and histologic features. New information concerning the etiology, histochemistry, and electron microscopy of eccrine hidrocystomas is presented, as well ...

Eccrine porocarcinoma (EPC) is a rare cutaneous neoplasm that grows slowly over a long period of time but often experiences an accelerated growth phase. This malignant tumor may arise denovo or evolve from a pre-existing benign eccrine poroma. Histologic evaluation demonstrates anaplastic cells involving the epidermis and infiltrating the dermis ...

Eccrine porocarcinoma is a rare malignancy of the eccrine sweat duct unit. This article brings to 79 the number of cases reported. Our report and a review of the literature illustrate the natural history and pathological findings of this disease. Patients' ages at the time of appearance for treatment range from 19 to 90 years.

ABSTRACTA case of eccrine poroma situated on the inner surface of the right heel of a Japanese patient was studied using histochemistry and electron microscopy.Histochemically, a strong positive reaction for Phosphorylase was observed in the lower part of the tumor. In contrast, glycogen granules were distributed in large numbers in the upper part.

The Enigmatic Eccrine Epithelioma (Eccrine Syringomatous Carcinoma)
The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 1990Eccrine epithelioma is an exceedingly rare cutaneous tumor thought to represent the malignant counterpart of the eccrine dermal syringoma. To data, only 10 accepted cases appear to have been reported. Two additional cases are described here and the literature is reviewed. The first case showed the typical histologic features of eccrine epithelioma. The

Hidradenomas are adenomatous tumors of sweat gland origin that are usually benign and can occur in any cutaneous skin surface. When malignant, the tumors have high recurrence rates and are often fatal. Because of their infrequency and clinical ambiguity, hidradenomas are often misdiagnosed as other soft-tissue masses.
