Eccrine gland involvement in Krabbe's disease
Virchows Archiv A Pathological Anatomy and Histopathology, 1992Lysosomal storage inclusions were observed in skin eccrine gland secretory and myoepithelial cells in three cases of Krabbe's disease. In addition to storage there were numerous degenerative changes, occasionally resulting in cell necrosis. These findings suggest a generalized nature of the storage process in this lysosomal enzymopathy and point to ...

Cytology of eccrine sweat glands in the opossum
American Journal of Anatomy, 1973AbstractEccrine sweat glands occur only within the glabrous foot and toe‐pad skin of the Virginia opossum, Didelphis virginiana, Kerr. Two distinct types of secretory cells are found in the terminal portion of this gland, i.e., dark and clear cells.

ECCRINE SWEAT GLAND CARCINOMA WITH METASTABES
British Journal of Dermatology, 1972SUMMARY.— A case of metastasizing eccrine sweat gland carcinoma is presented. It developed on the thigh, which is a highly unusual site. The course was consistent with the recognized poor prognosis.

Sports Medicine, 1986
Heat dissipation, under conditions of thermal stress, is mediated primarily by evaporation of sweat. Physical training has been shown to enhance sweat production by eliciting changes in the sensitivity of eccrine glands, total sweat output and distribution of gland activity. These adaptations afford partial acclimation.

Antigen expression of human eccrine sweat glands
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 2009Background: The proliferating abilities of sweat glands are very limited, so researches on the repair and regeneration of sweat glands are important. First of all, we must find out reliable and specific antigen markers of sweat glands. Objective: To investigate the antigen expression of human eccrine sweat glands. Methods: The development of eccrine ...

Immunolocalization of cytokeratins in human eccrine sweat glands
Acta Histochemica, 1990Eccrine sweat glands of adult human skin were described in terms of immunohistological distribution of cytokeratins using monoclonal antibodies. The results are in favour of a segmental cytokeratin expression and provide a feasible basis for the investigation of pathological conditions.

Diseases of Eccrine Sweat Glands
1991The eccrine sweat glands are independent epidermal adnexal glands, since there is no relationship to the hair-sebaceous gland unit, in contrast to the apocrine sweat glands. They are distributed over the entire body, being particularly numerous on the soles, palms, and forehead. Their number is estimated at 2–3 million.

Innervation of eccrine sweat glands.
Biology bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Akademiia nauk SSSR, 1982In recent years it has been shown on the example of primate skin that in addition to abundant cholinergic innervation, the eccrine glands are also supplied by adrenergic fibers, containing catecholamines. The presence of an adrenergic component of the innervation is demonstrated on the plantar eccrine sweat glands of a number of rodents and the cat by ...

[Eccrine gland adenocarcinoma of the eyelid].
Archivos de la Sociedad Espanola de Oftalmologia, 2002Ocular adnexal malignant tumors with eccrine differentiation represent a rare group of neoplasms with a great invasive capacity. Authors present clinical findings in an eighty five years old patient who developed a progressive painless induration of both eyelids in his right eye.Microscopic examination of biopsy specimen suggested a primary eccrine ...

Diseases of the Eccrine Sweat Glands
2000The eccrine glands are free-standing adnexal structures that have no relationship to the hair follicle. They are distributed over the entire body, but are especially numerous on the palms, soles and forehead. The total number of eccrine glands is 2–3 million.
