Training of Eccrine Sweat Glands in Paraplegics
In paraplegics sweating was evaluated both above and below a lesion of the spinal cord. Sweating was measured on the forearm and thigh during both thermal stress or repeated injections of methacholine. The results were as follows: (1) Three traumatic paraplegics did not sweat in response to the thermal stress in decentralized areas.

The work seeked to demonstrate the drug Dacarbazine as a positive control for toxicity tests in immortalized skin cells (keratinocytes and fibroblasts) and in different neoplastic cell lines, through the assay with resazurin. In addition, an alternative model to replace animals in experimental studies, using skin explant culture (hOSEC ‐ human ...

Multipotent nestin-positive stem cells reside in the stroma of human eccrine and apocrine sweat glands and can be propagated robustly in vitro. [PDF]
Human skin harbours multiple different stem cell populations. In contrast to the relatively well-characterized niches of epidermal and hair follicle stem cells, the localization and niches of stem cells in other human skin compartments are as yet ...

We investigated the distribution and structure of scent glands in the banded mongoose (Mungos mungo), a cooperatively breeding, group‐living mammal. Histological analyses revealed relatively large anal glands and a previously undescribed cheek gland, but no specialised scent glands in the chin or abdomen.
