Clinical application of single‐cell RNA sequencing in disease and therapy
This review provides a comprehensive overview of the application of scRNA‐seq in revisiting the somatic cell evolutions in human diseases, as well as in biomarker discovery and drug development. Abstract Background The emergence of single‐cell RNA sequencing (scRNA‐seq) technology has revolutionized our capacity to study cell functions in complex ...

Extrachromosomal Circular DNA as a Cancer Biomarker: From Diagnosis to Treatment
Extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) is an emerging class of genetic material that exists outside the chromosomal genome. These circular DNA molecules are gaining increasing attention as important biomarkers in cancer research due to their roles in gene amplification, genetic heterogeneity, and drug resistance.

Extrachromosomal circular DNA expressing miRNA promotes ovarian cancer progression
This study revealed a 13‐fold increase in eccDNA in HGSOC compared to normal tissues, with significant enrichment in promoter and coding regions. eccDNA‐derived miRNAs (eccMIRs) were shown to enhance cancer cell proliferation, invasion and tumour growth through the expression of oncogenic miRNA sequences. The study highlights the importance of the MMEJ

CytoCellDB: a comprehensive resource for exploring extrachromosomal DNA in cancer cell lines [PDF]
Recently, the cancer community has gained a heightened awareness of the roles of extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA) in cancer proliferation, drug resistance and epigenetic remodeling. However, a hindrance to studying ecDNA is the lack of available cancer model

Extracellular DNA contributes to cholesterol crystal embolism-induced clot formation, acute kidney injury, and tissue infarction [PDF]

Extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) has quite recently turned out to be a cardinal component in cardiovascular diseases (CVD), governing the gene expression and mechanisms of disease causation. Studies indicated an upregulation of eccDNA in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), which makes it strikingly potential as a sensitive and specific ...
