Echocardiogram in calcified mitral anulus
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1975Abstract Calcification of the anulus fibrosus of the mitral valve presents a characteristic pattern on the echocardiogram. This pattern may be mistaken for that of a posteriorly situated pericardial effusion. Two illustrative cases are presented.

The echocardiogram in papillary muscle dysfunction
American Heart Journal, 1972Abstract Serial echocardiograms were recorded in 25 patients with acute myocardial infarction. Significant variations in the diastolic slope as well as in the amplitude of the mitral valve echocardiogram were found in six patients (24 per cent). An apical systolic murmur was audible in each of the six patients.
