Reverberations in echocardiograms

Journal of Clinical Ultrasound, 1977
AbstractDifferent types of reverberations which may cause confusing artifacts in echocardiograms are described. Reverberations between the targets may result in identifiable complex echo patterns. An echocardiogram with reverberating echoes is presented. Several experimental studies were done to explain the reverberating echoies.

CardiacNet: Learning to Reconstruct Abnormalities for Cardiac Disease Assessment from Echocardiogram Videos

European Conference on Computer Vision
Echocardiogram video plays a crucial role in analysing cardiac function and diagnosing cardiac diseases. Current deep neural network methods primarily aim to enhance diagnosis accuracy by incorporating prior knowledge, such as segmenting cardiac ...

Fourier analysis of the echocardiogram

Physics in Medicine & Biology, 1978
Fourier analysis has been applied to the analysis of echocardiograms, with the result that anterior mitral leaflet waveforms have been classified in a manner which is unambiguous and which lends itself easily to present-day automated technology.

Training-Free Condition Video Diffusion Models for single frame Spatial-Semantic Echocardiogram Synthesis

International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention
Conditional video diffusion models (CDM) have shown promising results for video synthesis, potentially enabling the generation of realistic echocardiograms to address the problem of data scarcity.

[The normal echocardiogram].

Soins; la revue de reference infirmiere, 1981
The echos of the mitral valve are a useful landmark for the rest of the echocardiographic examination. They usually are the easiest to record and, from a historical point of view, they were among the first to be described48.

Unnecessary Pre-Operative Cardiology Evaluation and Transthoracic Echocardiogram Delays Time to Surgery for Geriatric Hip Fractures.

Journal of Orthopaedics and Trauma, 2020
OBJECTIVE Delays to surgery for geriatric hip fracture patients are associated with increased morbidity and mortality. The American Heart Association (AHA) and American College of Cardiology (ACC) Clinical practice guidelines (CPG) were created to ...

Use and Abuse of the Echocardiogram

Pediatric Clinics of North America, 1984
Echocardiography is a valuable noninvasive technology that has profoundly influenced the standards of medical and surgical care of infants and children with cardiac disease. The correct and efficient utilization of this technology requires a knowledge of the structures that can be visualized on the echocardiogram, the limitations of the technique, and ...

The echocardiogram in left atrial myxoma

The American Journal of Medicine, 1973
Abstract A case of left atrial myxoma is described in which the echocardiogram provided the clue to the diagnosis. The mechanisms involved in producing a positive result are discussed. The value of the echocardiogram appears to depend upon echoes from the tumor during diastole which can be detected immediately posterior to the anterior cusp of the ...
