Chest, 1976The effects of respiratory movements on the ultrasonic echoes of the cardiac structures were recorded and analyzed in 50 consecutive patients. Deep inspiration in cooperative patients resulted in a considerable increase of dense anterior echoes, with blotting out of any distal or posterior echoes in 12 of 44 patients (group A).

The echocardiogram in papillary muscle dysfunction
American Heart Journal, 1972Abstract Serial echocardiograms were recorded in 25 patients with acute myocardial infarction. Significant variations in the diastolic slope as well as in the amplitude of the mitral valve echocardiogram were found in six patients (24 per cent). An apical systolic murmur was audible in each of the six patients.
