Echocardiography is the most primary clinical modality for dynamic cardiac imaging. However, the vigorous motion of myocardial tissue inherently causes inevitable signal aliasing between blood flow and myocardial tissue in traditional Doppler ultrasound ...

Graphical Abstract ABSTRACT Fluoroscopy has traditionally been the mainstay imaging technique for guidance during electrophysiology (EP) ablation procedures. The numerous disadvantages associated with radiation exposure for both operators and patients have created the need for zero‐fluoroscopy (ZF) approaches. Today, electrophysiologists have access to

Abstract Blood flow restriction (BFR) has been identified as a potential countermeasure to mitigate physiological deconditioning during spaceflight. Guidelines recommend that tourniquet pressure be prescribed relative to limb occlusion pressure (LOP); however, it is unclear whether body tilting or reduced gravity analogues influence LOP.

Spontaneous resolution of atrial and ventricular septal defects in Malta [PDF]
Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the commonest congenital malformation, and ventricular septal defect (VSD) and atrial septal defect (ASD) are the commonest forms of CHD.

Blood flow restriction exercise during microgravity exposure in parabolic flight
Abstract This case report evaluates whether it is possible to perform blood flow restriction (BFR) exercise during exposure to microgravity. The objectives were three‐fold: (1) to determine if a personalised tourniquet system (PTS) hardware technology performs nominally and enables BFR exercise in microgravity; (2) to determine if BFR augments the ...

Cerebral haemodynamic responses to inspiratory muscle work
Abstract Fatiguing inspiratory work has been shown to evoke a sympathetically mediated reflex that has systemic cardiovascular consequences, including increases in heart rate and blood pressure and a decrease in resting limb vascular conductance. Moreover, the response to this reflex appears to be attenuated in females compared with males.

Three-dimensional color Doppler flow assessment of ischemic mitral regurgitation
Purpose. Volume-rendered images of the mitral valve apparatus have enabled visualization of the MV leaflets, orifice, and submitral apparatus in a manner that is not possible using conventional 2-dimensional echocardiography.
