A Novel Multiparametric Model Integrating Aortoseptal Angle to Predict the Origin of Outflow Tract Ventricular Arrhythmias

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 1, February 2026.
The aortoseptal angle (cutoff 131.24°) effectively differentiates ventricular arrhythmia originating from the left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT). Combining the aortoseptal angle with the hypertension status and V2 transition ratio significantly improves its diagnostic accuracy.

Aspiration of superabsorbent polymer beads in a 2‐year‐old Boston terrier

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract This case report describes the first documented instance of a dog aspirating a superabsorbent polymer bead, commonly marketed as Orbeez, and its successful removal. Superabsorbent polymers are widely used in children's toys and decorative products, and they possess the ability to expand significantly in water.

Suspected pro‐arrhythmic effects of flecainide and the limitations of in‐hospital short‐duration electrocardiography in detecting ventricular arrhythmia burden in a dog with dilated cardiomyopathy

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract A 10‐year‐old, female, spayed Pitbull mix presented for evaluation of an arrhythmia. Echocardiography revealed enlargement of all cardiac chambers and decreased left ventricular systolic function. Electrocardiography demonstrated isolated, ventricular premature complexes.

Proximal Pulmonary Artery Stiffening as a Biomarker of Cardiopulmonary Aging

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 2, February 2026.
Mouse models revealed age‐associated increased circumferential stiffness of the proximal pulmonary artery that was associated with reorientation of collagen and decreased function of the lung and right ventricle. Age‐related transcriptional changes were indicative of senescence, ECM turnover, TGFβ signaling, and altered intercellular signaling among ...
