ECLS for preemies: The artificial placenta

Seminars in Perinatology, 2014
The high mortality and morbidity associated with respiratory failure among extremely low gestational age newborns (ELGANs) remains an unsolved problem. A logical strategy to avoid these complications would involve re-creating the intrauterine environment with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) instead of mechanical ventilation.

ECL Cells: Biology and Pathobiology

Digestion, 2009
During recent years, the so-called ECL cells of the acid-producing part of the stomach have attracted much attention, mainly due to the fact that mice and rats were found to develop gastric carcinoids (ECL cell tumors) following lifelong treatment with blockers of acid secretion.

Bipolar ECL implementation of SPARC

Fourth IEEE Region 10 International Conference TENCON, 1991
The scalable processor architecture (SPARC) defines a general purpose 32 bit RISC processor architecture. The simple nature of the architecture provides a migration path to higher performance levels as new technologies become available. The goal was to design an architecture that would scale with, or track, improvements in the circuit technology.

An ECL implementation of the Motorola 88000

Digest of Papers. COMPCON Spring 89. Thirty-Fourth IEEE Computer Society International Conference: Intellectual Leverage, 2003
The high performance of the Motorola 88000 architecture, which uses ECL (emitter-coupled logic) technology, is discussed. The ECL 88000 is implemented using Motorola's MCA4 technology. This provides about 50000 ECL gates in a macro cell array structure. The ECL 88000 uses both standard and custom macros within the array.

Application of ECLs and Today's Legislation

Journal of ASTM International, 2011
Environmentally considerate lubricants (ECLs)—the so called “bio oils”—were introduced in the mid 80s to minimize impact of lubrication on the environment. In the early 1990s the German RAL (Blue Angel) and the Swedish Standard organisations defined corresponding specifications for ECLs, other Eco-Labels followed.
