I VENTURE to send some notes upon last night's eclipse of the moon, taken by me here up to 11.35 p.m., when the sky became rather suddenly and entirely overcast.

X-ray reprocessing: Through the eclipse spectra of high mass X-ray binaries with XMM-Newton [PDF]
The study of X-ray reprocessing is one of the key diagnostic tools to probe the environment in X-ray binary systems. One difficult aspect of studying X-ray reprocessing is the presence of much brighter primary radiation from the compact star together with the reprocessed radiation. In contrast for eclipsing systems, the X-rays we receive during eclipse

Toward Eclipse Mapping of Hot Jupiters [PDF]
Recent Spitzer infrared measurements of hot Jupiter eclipses suggest that eclipse mapping techniques could be used to spatially resolve the day-side photospheric emission of these planets using partial occultations.

Eclipse of the Public Corporation or Eclipse of the Public Markets? [PDF]
The authors look back at Michael Jensen's 1989 article “The Eclipse of the Public Corporation.” They find some of his predictions have been borne out but other important ones, not. Jensen concluded that the publicly held corporation was in decline and had outlived its usefulness in many sectors.

Satellite's attitude can be determined by using several different ways. In order to use a recursive filter to determine the attitude especially after crucial intervals for the satellite including detumbling, eclipse, etc., single-frame methods can be ...

Photometric and spectroscopic observations of the 2014 eclipse of the complex binary EE Cephei [PDF]
We report photometric and spectroscopic observations of the 2014 eclipse of EE Cep. This proved to be one of the shallower eclipses on record rather than one of the deepest as predicted. The general shape of the eclipse light curve was similar to that of the 2003 eclipse.

Infrared Eclipses of the Strongly Irradiated Planet WASP-33b, and Oscillations of its Host Star [PDF]
We observe two secondary eclipses of the strongly irradiated transiting planet WASP-33b in the Ks band, and one secondary eclipse each at 3.6- and 4.5 microns using Warm Spitzer.

SS 433: Stationary lines and primary eclipses [PDF]
Some stationary lines in the emission spectra of SS 433 are eclipsed, but most are not. Lines attributed to a circumbinary disk are not eclipsed, but double in relative intensity during primary eclipse. A C II doublet is eclipsed and Doppler shifts over two periods yield an orbital speed of 176 +/- 13 km/s.
