Tumor‐associated TP53 inactivation correlates with lipid droplet (LD) accumulation. High‐fat diets drive Cyb5r3‐Myh9‐mediated p53 enrichment on LD surfaces, accelerating its degradation while upregulating LD‐promoting factor CD36 expression to establish a feed‐forward loop. LD suppression or dietary intervention restores p53 and inhibits tumorigenesis,

The occurrence of classical Cepheids in binary systems
Classical Cepheids, like binary stars, are laboratories for stellar evolution and Cepheids in binary systems are especially powerful ones. About one-third of Galactic Cepheids are known to have companions and Cepheids in eclipsing binary systems have ...

Detection of Contact Binary Candidates Observed By TESS Using the Autoencoder Neural Network
A contact binary may be the progenitor of a red nova that eventually produces a merger event and have a cut-off period of around 0.2 days. Therefore, a large number of contact binaries is needed to search for the progenitor of red novae and to study the ...

EXPECTED LARGE SYNOPTIC SURVEY TELESCOPE (LSST) YIELD OF ECLIPSING BINARY STARS [PDF]
In this paper, we estimate the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) yield of eclipsing binary stars, which will survey ∼20,000 deg2 of the southern sky during a period of 10 years in six photometric passbands to r ∼ 24.5.

Spectrophotometry of massive eclipsing binary stars
Normalized flux distributions were measured for U Ophiuchi, AG Persei, lambda Tauri, and V356 Sagitarii from 1976 July to 1978 March. The spectra of lambda Tauri match those of a B4 star and an A4 star at phases 0.77--9.90, and those of a B3 star and an A4 star at other phases.

A photovoltaic/photomultiplication dual‐mode organic photodetector is developed by integrating two different organic bulk‐heterojunctions, one introduces the photovoltaic effect, and the other triggers photomultiplication charge generation in the stacked device at different voltage polarities.

The New Version of the Binary Star Database (BDB)
The Binary star database contains data on about 100 000 stellar systems of multiplicity 2 to 22, taken from a large variety of published catalogues for all types of binary stars: visual, orbital, astrometric, interferometric, spectroscopic, photometric ...

γ DORADUS PULSATIONS IN THE ECLIPSING BINARY STAR KIC 6048106 [PDF]
ABSTRACT We present the Kepler photometry of KIC 6048106, which is exhibiting the O’Connell effect and multiperiodic pulsations. Including a starspot on either of the components, light-curve synthesis indicates that this system is a semi-detached Algol with a mass ratio of 0.211, an orbital inclination of 73.°9, and a large temperature ...

‘Where are the adults?’: Troubling child‐activism and children's political participation
Abstract Children's political participation is a well‐established theme in childhood studies. In this article we offer an original account of child activism that takes into account the entangled and emergent aspect of children as activists. We begin with a historical and a conceptual review, noting the importance of mid‐20th century developments such ...

Eclipsing Binary Stars: the Royal Road to Stellar Astrophysics [PDF]
Russell (1948) famously described eclipses as the "royal road" to stellar astrophysics. From photometric and spectroscopic observations it is possible to measure the masses and radii (to 1% or better!), and thus surface gravities and mean densities, of ...
