Eclipsing high-mass binary stars [PDF]

ABSTRACT Background Learning analytics dashboards (LAD) have been developed as feedback tools to help students self‐regulate their learning (SRL) by using the large amounts of data generated by online learning platforms. Despite extensive research on LAD design, there remains a gap in understanding how learners make sense of information visualised on ...

The Limits of Inclination for Binary Star Partial Eclipses
Algorithms are given for calculating the inclinations at which total eclipses become partial eclipses and partial eclipses become grazing eclipses. It is shown that the larger star in a contact or nearly contact system is so distorted in shape that it becomes self-eclipsing, as a shallow concavity develops near the point of contact. Algorithms are also

ABSTRACT Integer and modular arithmetic is a fundamental area of mathematics, with extensive applications in computer science, and is essential for cryptographic protocols, error correction, and algorithm efficiency. However, students often struggle to understand its abstract nature, especially when transitioning from theoretical knowledge to practical

Physical Parameters of 11,100 Short-period ASAS-SN Eclipsing Contact Binaries
Starting from more than 11,200 short-period (less than 0.5 days) EW-type eclipsing binary candidates with the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae V -band light curves, we use the Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm and neural networks to obtain the ...

Trans Feminism and the Women's Liberation Movement in Britain, c. 1970–1980
Abstract The history of the British women's liberation movement (WLM) is a growing field of study, but it has had little to say about trans participants in the movement. Drawing on feminist and LGBT+ archives and interviews, this article argues that while trans acceptance in ‘women‐only’ groups was not guaranteed during the period between 1970 and 1980,

The (micro)structure, morphology, optical, photocatalytic, electrical and dielectric properties of mixed metal oxides CoNb2O6, NiNb2O6 and Co0.5Ni0.5Nb2O6, prepared through a modified single‐source molecular precursor route, were investigated. Abstract A new approach for the formation of binary and ternary mixed metal oxides, namely, CoNb2O6, NiNb2O6 ...
