Photometric and Spectroscopic Analysis of Eight Totally Eclipsing Contact Binaries with Small Mass Ratios

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
This paper selected eight totally eclipsing contact binaries for photometric and spectroscopic studies. Spectral data were analyzed by University of Lyon Spectroscopic analysis Software, and photometric data were analyzed using PHOEBE through Markov ...

The Pepper E3 Ligase CaGIR1 Acts as a Negative Regulator of Drought Response via Controlling CaGRAS1 Stability

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 48, Issue 7, Page 5498-5513, July 2025.
ABSTRACT The ubiquitin‐proteasome pathway modulates protein stability, which impacts plant responses to abiotic stresses, such as drought. Our previous study reported that the pepper GRAS‐type transcription factor CaGRAS1 plays a positive role in drought resistance.

Quality or Complexion? Experience and Skin Tone as Determinants of Electoral Success in Mexico

open access: yesSocial Science Quarterly, Volume 106, Issue 4, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective Recent research suggest that skin color discrimination influences electoral outcomes. This article tests the empirical robustness and generalizability of these findings, incorporating candidates’ quality as an alternative explanation for electoral success. Methods We examine data from the 2024 General Election in Mexico.

Ultrasmall Gold Nanoparticles (2 nm) Decorated with a High Density of Photochemically Switchable Ligands

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 36, June 26, 2025.
Photoswitchable azo ligands can be conjugated to the surface of ultrasmall gold nanoparticles with a high density (about 50 ligands on each nanoparticle). Their photoswitching is not constrained by the binding to the gold surface and can be used to induce a nematic‐to‐isotropic phase transition in a liquid crystal.

An Efficient Method for Batch Derivation of Detached Eclipsing Binary Parameters: Analysis of 34,907 OGLE Systems

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Detached eclipsing binary (EB) systems are crucial for measuring the physical properties of stars that evolve independently. Large-scale time-domain surveys have released a substantial number of light curves for detached EBs.
