The Amateur and Eclipsing Binary Stars [PDF]
Probably no other branch of science has benefited as much from the work of dedicated amateurs as has the science of Astronomy. While some amateurs have made many useful types of astronomical observations– comets, meteors, occultations, etc. – perhaps none has been as extensive and as useful as those made in the field of variable stars.

Hidden Companions Detected by Asteroseismology. I. Two Kepler Field Non-Eclipsing Binaries
The Kepler space telescope has detected a large number of variable stars. We summarize 2261 δ Scuti and hybrid variables in the literature, and perform time-frequency analysis on these variable stars. Two non-eclipsing binary systems, KIC 5080290 and KIC

Doppler images of the eclipsing binary ER Vulpeculae [PDF]
We present Doppler images of both components of the eclipsing binary system ER Vul, based on the spectra obtained in 2004 November, 2006 September and 2008 November.

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

Four-colour photometry of eclipsing binaries. XL, uvby light curves for the B-type systems DW Carinae, BF Centauri, AC Velorum, and NSV 5783 [PDF]
Aims. In order to increase the limited number of B-stars with accurately known dimensions, and also the number of well studied eclipsing binaries in open clusters, we have undertaken observations and studies of four southern double-lined eclipsing B-type

Identifying and Characterising Eclipsing Binary Stars in the MOSES Survey [PDF]
This thesis presents the research methods and results from analysing data from the MOSES survey in search of variable stars. The work focuses on classifying and analysing light curves of eclipsing binary stars.

Sweetosomes, a new class of fucose‐decorated liposomes, are developed via a one‐step microfluidic process without surface chemistry. This study elucidates their main caveolae‐mediated entry and distinct endosomal trafficking. These nanostructures demonstrate superior endosomal escape, organelle acidity modulation, and prolonged plasma persistence ...

Asteroseismology of Eclipsing Binary Stars [PDF]
Eclipsing binaries have long served as benchmark systems to measure fundamental properties of stars. In recent decades, asteroseismology—the study of stellar pulsations—has emerged as a powerful new tool to study the structure and evolution of stars across the H–R diagram.

The eclipsing binary star RZ Cassiopeiae [PDF]
Aims. We test the hypothesis that the oEA star RZ Cas has undergone a transient phase of rapid mass-transfer in 2000/2001. Methods. We analyze a time series of high-resolution spectra of RZ Cas obtained in 2001 and in 2006 for radial velocity (RV) and line profile variations.

Microfluidic coaxial extrusion generates size‐controlled 3D lymphatic tubes from primary human dermal lymphatic endothelial cells in a defined four‐component matrix. These engineered vessels self‐organize into stable lymphatic endothelium, maintain selective macromolecular permeability for 30 days, and enable direct comparison with blood endothelial ...
