Taraxastane glycosides from Eclipta alba
Phytochemistry, 1997Abstract From the dried whole plants of Eclipta alba (Ecliptae Herba, Chinese name Mo Han Lian) purchased in China, four new taraxastane triterpene glycosides, named eclalbasaponins VII–X were isolated, along with eclalbasaponins I–VI. The structures of eclalbasaponins VII–X were characterized as 3β,20β,16β- and 3β,20β,28-trihydroxytaraxastane ...

Neuropharmacological profile of Eclipta alba (Linn.) Hassk
Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2005The present study deals with the investigation of standardized and phytochemically evaluated aqueous and hydroalcoholic extracts of the plant Eclipta alba for sedative, muscle-relaxant, anxiolytic, nootropic and anti-stress activities. The hydrolyzed fraction of the aqueous extract was also subjected to similar studies in rats.

Eclalbatin, a Triterpene Saponin fromEclipta Alba
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2001From the whole plant of Eclipta alba, a new triterpene saponin, named eclalbatin, together with alpha-amyrin, ursolic acid and oleanolic acid were isolated. The structure of eclalbatin has been established as 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-3-beta-hydroxy-olean-12-en-28-oic acid, 28-O-beta-D-arabinopyranoside (1) on the basis of chemical and spectral data.

Hepatoprotective effects of Eclipta alba on subcellular levels in rats
Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 1993The hepatoprotective effect of the ethanol/water (1:1) extract of Eclipta alba (Ea) has been studied at subcellular levels in rats against CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity. Ea significantly counteracted CCl4-induced inhibition of the hepatic microsomal drug metabolising enzyme amidopyrine N-demethylase and membrane bound glucose 6-phosphatase, but failed to

Antihepatotoxic agent in micropropagated plantlets of Eclipta alba
Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 1995A protocol for in vitro micropropagation of Eclipta alba (L.) Hassk from nodal segment explants has been established. The maximum number of shoots was obtained after 60 days of culture in Murashige & Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 4.4 μM benzyladenine. Multiple rooting was achieved using MS medium with 2.4 μM 2-isopentyladenine.
