Quantifying and Zoning Ecological Compensation for Cultivated Land in Intensive Agricultural Areas: A Case Study in Henan Province, China

open access: yesLand
Cultivated land ecological compensation (CLEC) is an important way to solve regional development imbalance and cultivated land problems, and the scientific quantification of the ecological value of cultivated land is the key to CLEC.

Electrochemical Nitrate Reduction Reaction to Ammonia at Industrial‐Level Current Densities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review starts from the mechanism and theoretical basis of electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction (NO3−RR), and systematically summarizes and discusses the design strategies of industrial‐level current density catalysts. In addition, the progress of industrial‐level NO3−RR‐based electrolyzers, including flow reactor and membrane electrode ...

Design Matters: How Cell Architecture Shapes the Performance, Cost, and Environmental Impact of Battery Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a multidimensional framework integrating electrical performance, cost, and life cycle assessment for 140 real and virtual battery cells. Results show that LFP offers low emissions and costs, sodium‐ion excels in resource efficiency, and pouch housings and higher energy densities effectively reduce environmental burdens.

Temperature and Farm Labor in Nigeria

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We estimate the impact of temperature shocks on the composition of farm labor in rural Nigeria using a nationally representative household panel survey. Leveraging plausibly exogenous year‐to‐year variation in growing season temperatures, we find that warmer temperatures significantly alter farm labor composition, prompting a substantial shift

Mechanical Glass‐Backsheet Photovoltaic Modules Delamination: Toward Materials Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
A new technology based on sanding has been developed to collect most of the materials contained in a photovoltaic (PV) module in the form of powders. A pilot line is now operational. This technology is specifically suited for Glass//Backsheet PV panels, which represent today the vast majority of the end of life PV panels.

Dynamic Optimal Control Differential Game of Ecological Compensation for Multipollutant Transboundary Pollution

open access: yesComplexity, 2021
This paper studies a Stackelberg differential game between an upstream region and a downstream region for transboundary pollution control and ecological compensation in a river basin and increases the number of pollutants assumed in the model to multiple.

Impact of low-input meadows on arthropod diversity at habitat and landscape level [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In Switzerland, in order to preserve and enhance arthopod diversity in grassland ecosystems (among others), farmers had to convert at least 7 % of their land to ecological compensation areas – ECA. Major ECA are low input grassland, traditional orchards,

Assessing Agricultural Green Total Factor Productivity in Latin America

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The agricultural sector in Latin America plays a vital role in ensuring food security while impacting the environment. However, there remains a lack of analysis regarding the inputs responsible for pollution within its sub‐technologies. Hence, this article aims to assess agricultural green total factor productivity (TFP) through a novel ...
