MICROBIAL CHARACTERIZATION OF ABANDONED MINING AREA OF SIDI KAMBER NORTH-EAST OF ALGERI [PDF]
The ecological importance of soil bacteria is not limited to their number or biomass, although these parameters contribute greatly. Indeed, their main asset lies in their great genetic and functional diversity.

Collagen hydrolysate is evaluated as a sustainable binder for MgO‐C refractories. Its thermally induced cross‐linking and gas release lead to expansion and cracking in large bricks, but tailored batches with lignin, recyclates, or fine graphite improve the gas release while thermal treatment and stability.

The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Acoustical ecological risk [PDF]
Risk-based prioritization and decision making has been implemented by the U. S. EPA in several areas to assure quality and consistency of risk and environmental assessment and to identify areas to reduce uncertainty. This talk will review the elements of risk assessment and risk management and will compare the paradigms for considering primarily ...
