Soft Skins With Reversible Thickness Morphing: Materials, Mechanisms, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Evolution of electronic skin (e‐skin) technologies toward adaptive, multifunctional soft skins. Phase I highlights early rigid and discrete sensory interfaces. Phase II shows the transition toward flexible, stretchable, and large‐area e‐skin. Phase III captures the emergence of computational e‐skin.

Gold‐Stabilized Copper Enables Anodic Hydrogen Evolution for Ultralow‐Voltage CO‐to‐Ethylene Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Gold‐stabilized copper suppresses hydroxide‐driven deactivation during anodic hydrogen evolution from furfural. Pairing this low‐potential anode with CO‐to‐ethylene electroreduction enables sub‐1 V operation at 400 mA cm−2, high single‐pass CO conversion, and co‐production of ethylene, furoic acid, and a separate hydrogen stream.

Polymeric Sorbents as Energy‐Efficient Alternative to Cryogenic Distillation for Light Hydrocarbon Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The transition from cryogenic distillation to polymeric sorbents for light hydrocarbon purification is crucial for energy and environmental sustainability. The polymeric sorbents are engineered to separate gas mixtures based on their specific properties.

Data‐Driven Materials Science for Energy‐Sustainable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Data‐driven approaches powered by artificial intelligence are transforming materials discovery for energy sustainability. This review examines how auto‐generated high‐quality materials databases and domain‐specific language models accelerate research in photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, batteries and magnetic materials. Applications involve extraction of

Transversality Conditions and Dynamic Economic Behaviour [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Transversality conditions are optimality conditions often used along with Euler equations to characterize the optimal paths of dynamic economic models. This article explains the foundations of transversality conditions using a geometric example, a finite horizon problem, and an infinite horizon problem.

Economic Conditions

2019
Abstract Economic conditions are among the core conditions that shape health in any environment. Within cities, where populations are living in much greater proximity than in other areas, economic conditions are often the gateway to those resources that can create health.

Economic conditions and sleep

Health Economics, 2018
AbstractThis paper uses the American Time Use Survey from 2003 to 2015 to analyze the effect of economic conditions on sleep duration. Prior work has found that increases in the employment rate cause sleep duration of individuals to fall. No previous research considers that weekday sleep behavior and weekend sleep behavior may be differentially related

Innovation And The Conditions of Economic Progress [PDF]

open access: possibleEconomic Analysis and Policy, 2006
Abstract The lecture explores some connecting principles that link Colin Clark’s Conditions of Economic Progress to modern capitalism in which innovation continually transforms the system from within. My exploration touches on the meaning of economic progress, the difficulties of treating the tertiary sector as a residual after accounting for the ...
