Detecting Technological Catch‐Up in Economic Convergence [PDF]
We address the problem of measuring, in the absence of reliable indices of technology levels, how much of the convergence we observe is due to convergence in technology or in capital–labour ratios. We first develop a growth model where technology accumulation in lagging economies depends on their propensity to innovate and on technological spillovers ...

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Galton's fallacy and economic convergence
The term 'Galton's fallacy' has more than one meaning. Usages of the term starting with Francis Galton are reviewed. Recently the term has been used to denote problems encountered when the neoclassical convergence model is tested in a cross-section of country GNP histories (Barrow-Baumol regressions). M. Friedman and D.
