DEVELOPMENT OF MATHEMATICAL MEANS FOR ESTIMATION OF ECOLOGICAL AND ECONOMICAL LOSSES FROM POLLUTION OF ATMOSPHERIC AIR IN ZONES OF TECHNOGENIC OBJECTS IMPACT [PDF]

open access: yesRiscuri şi Catastrofe, 2015
The article describes the solution of one of the most important problems of rational use of natural resources. Modern mathematical tools for damage estimation, which are caused by atmospheric pollution to natural objects, and also methods for calculation

Semantic Modeling in Materials Science and Engineering With Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology 3.0

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The community‐driven Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology (PMDco) 3.0 is introduced as a Basic Formal Ontology‐aligned semantic backbone for the processing–structure–properties paradigm in Materials Science and Engineering. Modular engineering, automated releases, and validation workflows are highlighted and key semantic patterns for materials ...

Economic damage from smoking associated with four groups of chronic non-communicable diseases in the Russian Federation in 2016

open access: yesКардиоваскулярная терапия и профилактика, 2019
Tobacco smoking is a significant behavioral modifiable risk factor (RF) for the development of chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCD). As numerous studies show, in all countries, smoking is associated with significant economic damage (ED).Aim.

Non‐Additive Criteria Assessment in Sustainability Evaluation of High Entropy Alloys: A Toxicity‐Weighted Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sustainability assessment requires methodologies that appropriately distinguish between additive and non‐additive material properties. A toxicity‐weighted scoring system is developed and applied that accounts for the disproportionate influence of highly toxic constituents through nonlinear weighting functions, providing more realistic estimates than ...

Simulation‐Based Analysis of Insert Pull‐Out in Nickel‐Polyurethane Hybrid Foams Using CT‐Derived Geometries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
CT‐based finite element simulations combined with in situ X‐ray computed tomography are used to analyze insert pull‐out in nickel‐coated polymer foams. Despite variations in material parameters, deformation consistently concentrates within a narrow annular region around the insert.

Anticorrosive Performance of Smart Epoxy Coatings With Poly(urea‐formaldehyde) Microcapsules Filled With 5‐Ethylidene‐2‐norbornene

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
PUF/ENB microcapsules were synthesized based on a sequential factorial design and incorporated into an epoxy matrix. Their anticorrosive action, associated with the self‐healing mechanism, demonstrated that the addition of microcapsules to the coating improved anticorrosive performance compared to pure epoxy coatings, particularly when the encapsulate ...

Economic damage control for greenhouse gas emissions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Global Energy Issues, 2001
Future emissions of trace gases are intrinsically linked to economic growth and abatement policies, which in turn, are governed by expectations of greenhouse damages. Trace gas indices that depend upon future emissions can be calculated either on the basis of emissions scenarios, such as those devised by the IPCC, or using optimal control techniques ...

Detecting Anomalous Cell Behavior in Electrochemical Battery Testing Using Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Machine‐learning‐based screening enables automated identification of anomalous battery cells from complementary electrochemical tests. A curated battery database supports configuration‐aware comparison of rate‐capability and impedance data. Supervised classification of rate‐test data achieves 90% accuracy, while CNN‐VAE‐based impedance analysis reaches
