Associations of lifestyle‐related factors and psoriatic arthritis disease activity: the Dutch south west psoriatic arthritis study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective This study aims to investigate lifestyle‐related factors in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and their association with disease activity measurements. Methods This multicenter cohort included 938 patients newly diagnosed with PsA, between 2013 and 2023. A composite lifestyle risk score (range 0 to 5) was calculated using five lifestyle‐

International Migration: A Panel Data Analysis of Economic and Non-Economic Determinants [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2005
In this paper I empirically investigate economic and non-economic determinants of migration inflows into fourteen OECD countries by country of origin, between 1980 and 1995. The annual panel data set used makes it possible to exploit both the time-series and cross-country variation in immigrant inflows. I focus on both supply and demand determinants of

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Economic elasticities of input substitution using data envelopment analysis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
The use of elasticities of substitution between inputs is a standard method for addressing the effect of a change in the mix of inputs used for production from a technical or cost standpoint.

Data Envelopment Analysis for Technological, Environmental and Economic Analysis of Motorway Underpasses

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2016
Underpasses play an important role in ensuring permeability of line traffic structures (motorways, expressways) for feral species. There are many studies, articles and methodological guidebooks available describing proper design principles for technical ...

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting
