Economic-Enviromental Power Dispatch

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1975
A revised dispatch procedure for power is described that meets the demand for energy while accounting for both cost and emission considerations. First, a tradeoff curve, representing all alternative dispatch policies, is derived for each demand level. Since air pollution damage is a function of the spatial distribution of pollutants in the atmosphere ...

Optimized economic dispatch in microgrids

2017 IEEE Power & Energy Society Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference (ISGT), 2017
This paper aims at developing an economic dispatch optimizer using a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for a microgrid system, that can operate in grid-connected or islanded mode. In grid-connected mode, the optimizer provides set-points for dispatch of real power from Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) in the microgrid and purchase of real power from

Economic Fuel Dispatch

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1981
The economical use of all types of fuels available for the generation of power has become a major concern of electric utilities. Present methods do not fully take advantage of standard economic load dispatch minimization techniques because the fuel constraints on each type of fuel are not considered-in the classical calculation.

The economic dispatch computer

Electrical Engineering, 1958
THE ECONOMIC DISPATCH COMPUTER has been in service since February 1957 at Charleroi, Pa., central dispatching headquarters for West Penn Power Company. Generator load dispatching for the integrated properties of West Penn Electric System, consisting of West Penn Power Company, Monongahela Power Company and Potomac Edison Company has been done at ...

Dynamic economic dispatch using the extended security constrained economic dispatch algorithm

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1997
An algorithm for solving the power system multi-stage dynamic economic dispatch (MDED) problem in real-time is presented. The MDED problem is formulated by formally adding ramp rate constraints to the extended security constrained economic dispatch (ESCED) problem for all stages beyond the first stage.

An Application of the Economic-Environmental Power Dispatch

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1977
An application of a decision approach for controlling air pollution emission from power generation, presented by the authors in an earlier paper, is described. Trade-off curves between pollution emission and total operating cost are first computed for a portion of a realistic system containing coal, oil, and gas turbine generation.

Hierarchical Distributed Coordination for Economic Dispatch

2018 IEEE 27th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2018
The classical economic dispatch problem faces difficult challenges in a future smart grid with a great many distributed generators and fast power fluctuations due to high percentage of renewable energy. The traditional centralized scheme can not cope with a large number of generators, and the convergence rate of the purely distributed control decreases

Distributed economic dispatch for power systems

2017 11th Asian Control Conference (ASCC), 2017
The paper proposes a fully distributed approach for economic dispatch problem (EDP) in power systems. The goal is to determine the output power to meet the load demand economically. In this paper, a simple algorithm is proposed to solve EDP under capacity constraint. The proposed method only needs its local cost parameters and the local predicted load.

ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENTAL DISPATCH BY A MODE TECHNIQUE

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2008
Multi-objective differential evolution (MODE) is proposed to handle economic environmental dispatch problem, which is a multi-objective optimization problem (MOOPs) with competing and noncommensurable objectives. The proposed approach has a good performance in finding a diverse set of solutions and in converging near the true Pareto-optimal set ...

Distributed solution for the economic dispatch problem

21st Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, 2013
A distributed approach for the economic dispatch of generating units is presented. It is assumed that the generators are connected by a communication graph. Each unit has information about itself, and can exchange information only with a few neighboring units in such a graph. Using graph theory and consensus algorithms, the proposed approach solves the
