Cathode Upcycling for Direct Recycling of Lithium‐Ion Batteries Using a Precipitation Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
To improve the circularity of lithium‐ion batteries, researchers develop a low‐cost method to increase the energy density of directly recycled cathodes. Through a precipitation process, low‐nickel materials are converted to high‐nickel compositions. Using synchrotron 3D X‐ray imaging and diffraction, they track nickel diffusion during high‐temperature ...

Phenothiazine‐Based Self‐Assembled Monolayer with Thiophene Head Groups Minimizes Buried Interface Losses in Tin Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, Th‐2EPT, a novel self‐assembled monolayer (SAM), with optimized coordination strength and lattice compatibility for DMSO‐free tin perovskite solar cells is developed. Several advanced optical characterization techniques confirm the higher quality of the Th‐2EPT buried interface when compared to PEDOT and MeO‐2PACz.
