This study designs Ta–Mo–Cr–Ti–Al refractory high‐entropy alloys with a disordered body‐centered‐cubic A2 crystal structure aiming for improved ductility, lower density, and oxidation resistance. Four alloy compositions are identified by thermodynamic calculations.

The fused filament‐fabricated MAR‐M247 alloy without hot isostatic pressing shows the lowest porosity of 4%. Heat treatment at 1220 °C produces coarse precipitates and carbides. Specimens heat‐treated at 1220 °C exhibit higher tensile strength (683 MPa) and elongation (10%) at room temperature.

Single‐Crystal Castability of CM186LC Nickel‐Based Superalloy
The optimal conditions to obtain single‐crystal (SX) castings of the directional solidification nickel‐based superalloy CM186LC, are investigated. Cylindrical samples are cast via a proprietary SX Bridgman process. The effect of solidification rates (V) ranging from 1 to 10 mm⋅min−1 on the microstructure is explored.
