A simulative evaluation of triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structures for an elastocaloric application under compressive load is performed. For the evaluation of the structure's performance, surface/volume ratio, generated heat and invested mechanical work are taken into account and are compared to a tube as a reference specimen.

Scanning transmission electron microscopy imaging techniques are an essential tool to document dynamic developments, such as precipitation in aluminum alloys, during in situ heating experiments using transmission electron microscopy. However, in many cases, chemical information is required to interpret complex nanoscale processes.

The economics of justice as fairness
In this paper, the authors challenge the common interpretation of Rawls' Theory of Justice as Fairness by showing that this theory, as outlined in the restatement (Rawls, Justice as Fairness: a Restatement, 2001), goes well beyond the definition of a distributive value judgment, in such a way as to embrace efficiency issues as well.
