Economic Valuation of Forest Ecosystem Services: Methodology and Monetary Estimates [PDF]
By using ad hoc value transfer protocols, this paper offers a methodological contribution and provides accurate per hectare estimates of the economic value of some selected ecosystem services for all forest biomes in the world, identified following the ...

Nanomaterial Integration at Liquid–Liquid Interfaces for Green Catalysis
Functional nanomaterials assembled at liquid–liquid interfaces create dual‐role platforms serving as emulsion stabilizers and catalytic sites, offering enhanced reaction kinetics with improved catalyst recovery and recyclability. This review examines design strategies, structure‐performance relationships, and industrial implementation prospects of ...

Replacing CO2 with CO at the cathode and integrating a catholyte‐layer membrane electrode assembly transforms paired electrolysis into a stable platform for co‐producing ethylene and 2,5‐furandicarboxylic acid. Combined experimental and techno‐economic analyses identify carbon monoxide and 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural as the most compatible pairing ...

Live and Dead Issues in the Methodology of Economics [PDF]
We attempt to clarify divisions made by us in previous work (Colander et al., 2004a,b) between “orthodox, mainstream, and heterodox” in economics, following very useful remarks in Dequech (2007), whom we thank.

BioEISense is a microfluidic device with integrated impedance sensors, for real‐time, label‐free monitoring of S. aureus biofilms. In this study, the biofilm culture conditions were optimized to support sensitive and reproducible detection of biofilm formation and eradication under dynamic flow‐through conditions. The system was also validated for both

Sensitive and Spatially‐Resolved Electrochemiluminescence via Micropatterning
The use of a simple silica nanoparticle surface coating and patterning process can transform ordinary gold electrodes into multiplexed ECL sensing electrodes. Through spatially confined droplet formation and local ECL emission, it is possible to perform multiple analyses simultaneously from individual locations as well as intensify the ECL signal by as
