Economic Policy Uncertainty: An Index for Malta
SSRN Electronic JournalWe construct an Economic Policy Uncertainty (EPU) index for Malta based on the methodology of Baker, Bloom and Davis (2015) using articles published between 2004 and 2022 from four Maltese news portals. The index spikes during general elections and other significant local or international events.

Economic policy uncertainty, health status, and mortality
Social Science & MedicineUsing data from 1985 to 2018 across up to 17 countries, this study shows that higher levels of economic policy uncertainty (EPU) are associated with reduced mortality rates and improved health outcomes, particularly among individuals aged 65 years and above.
