Emerging Materials and Future Strategies for Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Solid oxide electrochemical cells operate under strongly coupled electrochemical and thermodynamic conditions, where performance is constrained by interactions among crystal structure, defect chemistry, and interfacial evolution. This review, based on a structure‐defect‐property‐durability framework, reveals the roles of lattice symmetry and defect ...

Economic resilience of the enterprise

open access: yesScientia fructuosa
The essence of the term "economic resilience" and the possibility of using this concept in relation to the social and economic system of the micro-level of the enterprise have been studied. The content of the terms " resilience" and "economic condition" as the main components of the studied concept is analyzed. The aim of the article is to identify the

Silicon‐Based Anodes for Sulfide Solid‐State Batteries: Failure Mechanisms and Multiscale Design Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon anodes in sulfide SSBs face coupled electrochemo‐mechanical failure by interface instability. This review examined recent advances and proposed mitigation strategies via material‐, electrode/interface‐, and cell‐level‐ engineering. We further evaluate scalable synthesis of sulfide SEs.

Pandemics, economics and resilience

open access: yes, 2020
Abstract. Pandemics and epidemics have occurred throughout human history, with significant impacts to both population and societies. Their economic impacts, however, have seen only limited research. Research has been limited by the lack of data and empirical evidence, due to the rarity of large-scale pandemics.

Redefining Crystalline Silicon: Unlocking New Horizons in Transparent and Flexible Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Crystalline silicon is presented as a platform for transparent and flexible photovoltaics. This review article outlines design principles for optical strategies to fabricate transparent silicon solar cells, mechanical strategies that mitigate silicon brittleness, and emerging concepts such as singlet‐fission spectral conversion and tandem architectures,

A Closed‐Loop Direct Recycling Process for Prussian White From Scrap and End‐of‐Life Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A closed‐loop direct recycling route for Prussian White sodium‐ion battery cathodes is demonstrated. Ice‐stripped scrap and end‐of‐life electrodes are regenerated via low‐temperature aqueous resodiation (80°C), restoring sodium content, Fe2+ redox chemistry, and structural integrity.

Atomic‐Layer‐Deposited ZnF2 on Aluminum Enabling In Situ NaF/Na–Zn Interphase for Robust Anode‐Free Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
“Sodiation of an ultrathin ALD‐ZnF2 layer on an Al current collector generates a sodiophilic Na–Zn alloy and a NaF‐rich SEI, enabling uniform Na deposition and highly reversible anode‐free sodium batteries.” ABSTRACT Achieving high‐energy‐density “anode‐free” sodium batteries remains a daunting challenge due to rapid capacity decay caused by poor ...

Kenyan Farmers' Policy Priorities During Economic Crisis and Stability: Insights From a Best‐Worst Scaling Experiment

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Amid rising food and fertilizer prices, understanding farmers' policy preferences is critical for effective crisis response. We use best‐worst scaling experiment to assess Kenyan mobile‐owning crop farmers' preferences for government support under high and normal price scenarios.
