Pay-as-you-speed An Economic Field Experiment [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Transport Economics and Policy, 2011
We report a vehicle-fleet experiment with an economic incentive for keeping within speed limits using a speed-alert device. A traffic insurance scheme was simulated for two months with a monthly bonus that was reduced by a non-linear speeding penalty. Participants were randomly assigned into four treatment and two control groups.

On the Speed of Economic Reform: Tale of the Tortoise and the Hare [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2005
We analyse how the choice of reform speed and economic growth affect one another. We estimate a system of three equations where economic growth, economic reform and FDI are jointly determined. New reforms affect economic growth negatively, whereas the level of past reform leads to higher growth and attracts FDI. This means that the immediate adjustment

High-speed railway, market access and economic growth [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Review of Economics & Finance, 2021
Abstract This paper establishes a general equilibrium trade model, adopts the “market access” approach to measure the impact of the high-speed railway (HSR) network on the economic growth of 110 main Chinese prefecture-level cities, of which we manually collected the pairwise travel distances and railway speeds to calculate MA (Market Access).

Economic production quantity model with variable machining rates and product quality

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering Business Management, 2019
The literature has several models that jointly determine the economic production quantity (EPQ) and the rate of production. Very few models define production rate explicitly.

The Price of Precision: A Critical Review of Molecular Diagnostics in Glioma, From Guidelines to Global Disparities

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gliomas have undergone a profound redefinition over the past decade, transitioning from morphology‐based entities to biologically coherent diseases defined by molecular alterations. The 2021 WHO Classification of Tumors of the Central Nervous System and its 2022 update formalize this shift, establishing integrated diagnosis as the global ...
