Modeling Temperature Responses of a Wind Turbine Blade Section Under Climate Chamber Conditions – Part 1: Challenges for FEM Simulations

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The rapid expansion of wind energy infrastructure over the past 20–30 years has led up to a situation where advanced non‐destructive testing (NDT) technologies are the need‐of‐the‐hour, not only for new wind turbine blades (WTBs) that are being installed, but also for older infrastructure which is reaching their designed lifetime.

Spray Drying of a Starch‐Based Model Emulsion: The Role of Free Oil and Water on Powder Flowability

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 49, Issue 3, March 2026.
Key product parameters for the flowability of model food emulsions were analyzed. The water activity and extractable surface oil proved more effective as predictors of the impact of free water and oil on flowability than the residual moisture and encapsulation efficiency.

Benchmarking Inorganic Deposition Routes for Hybrid Two‐Step Processed Perovskite Solar Cells: A Materials Perspective

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 10, Issue 4, 26 February 2026.
This study provides a comprehensive analysis of a fully sequential deposition route for the inorganic scaffold in the hybrid two‐step deposition method, setting it apart from the commonly used codeposition route. The sequential deposition route simplifies process integration and improves repeatability, achieving 20.3% efficiency and offering a ...

High‐Rate FA‐Based Co‐Evaporated Perovskites: Understanding Rate Limitations and Practical Considerations to Overcome Their Impact

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 16, 23 February 2026.
Vacuum‐based deposition is promising for perovskite solar cells to be successfully commercialized. However, co‐evaporation, the most common vapor phase deposition technique, suffers from very low deposition rates. In this work, we reveal that high deposition rates can lead to carbon flakes depositing into the perovskite absorber layers due to material ...

Investigating boreal forest successional stages in Alaska and Northwest Canada using UAV‐LiDAR and RGB and a community detection network

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, Volume 12, Issue 1, Page 129-147, February 2026.
This study develops a novel application of UAV‐LiDAR and Red Green Blue (RGB) data and network analysis to enhance our understanding of boreal forest succession. The results indicate that tree height and spectral variables are the most influential predictors of plant functional type in random forest algorithms, and high overall accuracies were attained.
