Modulating the Evolution of Metastable CaO* for the Near‐Theoretical Performance Breakthrough of Ni/CeO2‐CaO in Integrated CO2 Capture and Methanation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A low‐temperature hydrogen spillover decomposition strategy is proposed to reveal the influence of the CaCO3 parent conversion process on the properties of nascent CaO. Under the guidance of the advanced synthesis strategy, the properties of calcium‐based dual‐functional materials are maximally exploited.

Sustainability of cities under declining population and decreasing distance frictions: The case of Japan [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This study develops a statistical model that integrates economic agglomeration theory and power-law distributions of city sizes to project future population distribution on 1-km grid cells. We focus on Japan -- a country at the forefront of rapid population decline.

THE DEBATE OF THE MODERN THEORIES OF REGIONAL ECONOMIC GROWTH

open access: yesRa Ximhai, 2014
How do we explain the differences in economic growth in different parts of the nation and the world during the last sixty years? The objective of the study is to survey the traditional theories and models of regional economic growth.

The Study of the Effects of Economies of Industrial Agglomeration on Economic Growth in Iran’s Provinces [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهشهای اقتصادی, 2016
In urban and regional economics’ literature, according to the concepts of new economic geography model (NEG) and endogenous growth model, spatial agglomeration of economic activities and economic growth are interrelated processes.

A New Quasi‐Solid Polymer Electrolyte for Next‐Generation Na–O2 Batteries: Unveiling the Potential of a Polyamide‐Polyether System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel, sustainable Pebax1657‐based quasi‐solid polymer electrolyte (QSPE) that enhances the performance and safety of sodium–oxygen (Na–O2) batteries. The developed QSPE shows improved Na+ ion transport, reduced overpotentials, and better cycling stability compared to the conventional liquid systems, highlighting its potential ...

Quantitative characterization of hydrophobic agglomeration at different mixing intensities using a copula-based probabilistic modeling approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The agglomeration of small poorly wetted alumina particles in a stirred tank is investigated. For different experimental conditions, two bivariate probability densities for the area-equivalent diameter and aspect ratio of primary particles and agglomerates, respectively, are determined, using 2D image data from an inline camera system.

Adaptive Catalytic Nanointerfaces for Controlled Hydrogen Evolution: an in Situ Electrochemical Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ability to switch the HER activity of precious metals at will through a reconfigurable step‐edge/nanoparticle interface, using sulfur as an inorganic mediator, is demonstrated for the first time. This methodology addresses the durability issue of highly catalytic precious metals, which are typically single‐use, thereby extending their lifespan ...
