Seasonal shifts in network structure and species roles in a tropical island plant–flower visitor community Cambios estacionales en la estructura de la red de interacciones entre plantas y visitantes florales y en los roles de las especies en una comunidad insular tropical

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
Constant visitation rates across the flowering season masked major shifts in plant and flower visitor interaction structure, specialization, species roles and trait‐driven patterns shaping interaction intensity. Plants and flower visitors changed ecological roles over time, with native flower visitors playing key roles in maintaining network cohesion ...

Pejerrey (Odontesthes bonariensis) Under Siege: Main Infectious Diseases and Their Role in Aquaculture and Wild Populations Amidst Environmental Change

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 48, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT The pejerrey (Odontesthes bonariensis) is a key species for recreational and commercial fisheries in Argentina and holds significant aquaculture potential. It has been introduced to various countries worldwide, including Japan, where intensive aquaculture has developed.

Predictive evolutionary genomics: principles, validation, and practice

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Climate change and habitat loss are driving rapid evolutionary responses in populations world‐wide, which creates an urgent need for evolutionary forecasting in conservation and agriculture. Such forecasting can be categorized into three time scales: trait‐based models that use multivariate quantitative genetic equations to project correlated ...

Linking biosurface reactivity and photosynthesis to investigate Sphagnum mosses as ecosystem engineers

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Habit photographs of field‐collected and in vitro‐cultivated (c) Sphagnum spp. used for experiments. Summary Sphagnum mosses regulate peatland carbon storage, hydrology, nutrient cycling, and ecosystem functioning. However, the links among their surface chemistry, photosynthesis, responses to submersion and pH remain poorly understood.

STATE OF THE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION OF PESTICIDES IN MEXICO

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2020
Background. One of the problems in Mexico about the use and quantification of pesticides, is that there is a lack of efficient regulation and monitoring because there is no detailed information on its use, so this work analyzes the use of pesticides in ...

Plant genotypic diversity and defoliation jointly shape root exudation, fungal communities, and carbon and nitrogen cycling

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Experimental design. Summary Intraspecific plant diversity is a major component of community diversity, yet its role in shaping plant–microbial interactions and soil functioning remains poorly understood. In particular, plant genotypic diversity may modulate ecosystem responses to defoliation, a key driver of ecosystem processes in grazed systems.
